The Opportunity

With a 4.5 year contract extension in place, Thiess Mount Pleasant Operation have introduced a new fleet of Liebherr and Komatsu diggers and new Caterpillar Drills and Komatsu Trucks as well as expanded our team which is located a short 2.5km from Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter Valley.

As our next Maintenance Supervisor reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will be part of a team that strives for the best in fleet maintenance and management. You will work a lifestyle roster 5/4 4/5 5/5 rotating 12 hour days, nights and weekend work.

About The Role

This leadership role will coordinate all workshop maintenance activities ensuring a safe and health workplace is maintained. This role will manage community and environmental compliance and ensure all production and cost targets are met.

Additionally, you will:

  1. Coordinate all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and servicing of mobile equipment
  2. Ensure equipment is well maintained, clean and fit for purpose and breakdowns are managed efficiently, in an appropriate timeframe
  3. Work closely and communicate with subcontractors to achieve alignment between project goals and subcontract compliance
  4. Coordinate and control ongoing maintenance to plant and equipment during major shutdown repairs
  5. Lead, demonstrate and educate employees to embrace a work environment free from discrimination, bullying and harassment where everyone is treated with respect.

About You

  1. Trade Qualified Plant Mechanic (Heavy Vehicle Mobile Equipment) or Electrical Trade Qualifications
  2. At least 5 years mining experience with exposure to supervision of maintenance
  3. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and JDE (desirable)
  4. The ability to work with cross functional teams and build relationships with stakeholders
  5. Commitment and compliance to Health and Safety at all times
  6. Demonstrated mining supervisory training/qualifications or experience in a similar role
