About the Role We are recruiting for an experienced Operations Manager to lead our Karara site operations. This role is central to delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality outcomes across both fixed and mobile plant assets. You will manage operational performance, production delivery, and preventative maintenance within Bis' commitment to Zero Harm.

As Operations Manager, you will build and guide a capable team, engage directly with our client, and ensure contract performance is delivered to the highest standard.
Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop Operations Supervisors, HD Fitters, and contractors to achieve safety, productivity, and cost targets.
  • Oversee operational planning, production, and maintenance activities to meet KPIs.
  • Manage site budgets, forecasting, and financial performance.
  • Build strong client relationships and manage service delivery requirements.
  • Identify and deliver business improvement opportunities.
  • Drive employee engagement, workforce development, and compliance with HR and EBA requirements.
  • Champion Zero Harm, WHS standards, and statutory obligations under Schedule 26.
About You To be successful, you will bring:
  • Minimum five years in a senior supervisory or operations management role in mining or processing.
  • Strong experience in fixed plant operations, with knowledge of conveying systems, SCADA/PLC control systems, and maintenance management.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, costs, and profit centre performance.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, with the ability to develop teams and maintain strong safety culture.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management experience, including working directly with clients and regulators.
  • Relevant qualifications: Statutory Training for Responsible Managers (Schedule 26) required. Diploma of Leadership/Management or trade qualifications desirable.
