Join a respected, purpose-driven Australian organisation as a Legal Counsel as part of a growing in-house team. This organisation is a leader in its field that supports leadership, governance and professional excellence across Australia. With a collaborative culture and national footprint, this organisation is known for leading across education, advocacy and innovation.

About the Role

This organisation is seeking a Legal Counsel to provide strategic advice and support on a wide range of commercial legal matters- with a particular focus on IP and employment. You'll work across a very broad range including contract negotiations, regulatory compliance, data protection, employment law and competition, partnering closely with internal stakeholders to enable innovation while managing legal and reputational risk.

Key Responsibilities

  • Draft, review and negotiate various contracts
  • Advise on privacy, data, intellectual property and cybersecurity matters
  • Support internal governance, risk and compliance functions
  • Monitor legal developments and help shape policy and process improvements
  • Collaborate on strategic and cross-functional initiatives

About You

  • 7+ years PQE- some in-house exposure an advantage
  • Commercial generalist- with a commercial mindset/ solutions focussed approach
  • Strong communicator, comfortable advising senior stakeholders
  • Current Australian practising certificate
