HSE Officer

We're on the lookout for a proactive HSE Officer to join Mazzei Group and champion safety across our sites and teams. You'll play a vital role in ensuring we meet - and exceed - our compliance obligations, while actively contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and care.
About The Role
Reporting to the HSE Manager, you'll work across our Hawthorn head office and various job sites, supporting site teams, trades, and contractors with all things health, safety, and environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting safety inspections, audits, and toolbox talks
- Identifying and responding to hazards and unsafe behaviours
- Managing contractor compliance and onboarding
- Assisting with incident investigations and reporting
- Supporting the implementation and improvement of HSE systems (e.g., DS Site, SSMPs)
- Contributing to ISO accreditation and emergency response planning
- Minimum Cert IV in WHS + White Card
- Construction site experience, ideally within a Tier 1 or 2 environment
- Strong understanding of HSE legislation and compliance practices
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A collaborative mindset and the ability to work independently
- Driver's licence (essential)
