The roleThe purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of goals and objectives of Council's Youth Services Team (YST) (branded as Youth ConneXions) through engagement with young people, research, planning, program design and delivery, and to support delivery outlined in the Youth Services implementation plan. This position will take responsibility for the key responsibilities and objectives of the role and, where required, will support other YST members to deliver their responsibilities.
Responsibilities- Engage with young people; conduct research; assist in planning, design and delivery of youth programs; support delivery under the Youth Services implementation plan.
- Support other Youth Services Team members to achieve their objectives as required.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in youth work, social work or related fields; strong history in roles that require understanding issues relating to young people and families; experience in engaging, consulting and supporting young people is highly desirable.
- Ability to collect and collate complex data, provide data analysis and draft comprehensive reports to leadership on youth-related matters.
- Sound understanding of youth engagement and participation strategies and current trends/needs.
- Proven ability to plan, develop, deliver and evaluate youth strategies, policies and strategic projects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to cooperate with and influence staff and leadership across Council and with external youth organisations.
