The Diabetes and Endocrine team, located at the Townsville University Hospital, supports general medicine and endocrine disorders in pregnancy through various services including the obstetric medicine unit, insulin pump management, inpatient management, diabetes high risk foot service, outpatient paediatric diabetes and endocrine clinics, and telehealth services.

Salary and Benefits
We offer attractive remuneration packages, including:
- Salary range: $54.44 to $58.30 per hour (Nurse Grade 6 Band 1)
- 4 to 6 weeks annual leave with 14%-17.5% loading
- 12.75% employer superannuation contribution
- Additional options may be available
About your opportunity
The Diabetes Nurse Educator provides leadership, support, education, and participates in research within the multidisciplinary team to ensure best practice Diabetes and Endocrinology care within a continuum of care framework.
Requirements :
- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position (mandatory)
- Postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field (highly desirable)
- Credentialed status with the Australian Diabetes Educators Association (highly desirable) or willingness to obtain
- Experience in patient education and support, particularly with insulin pumps, CGM devices, and related software
- This role involves Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk
