An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Compliance Officer to join a collaborative and supportive team based in Brisbane CBD. What you'll do :

As a Finance Compliance Officer, you will support the department's commitment to robust financial governance. Your responsibilities include reviewing compliance frameworks, guiding colleagues on their obligations, leveraging digital skills to enhance knowledge repositories, coordinating training material reviews, designing online workflows, and identifying improvement opportunities. Effective stakeholder communication will be essential as you consult on issues and contribute to reports. Success depends on your attention to detail, knowledge sharing, and fostering an inclusive workplace.

• Conduct financial governance and compliance activities, including analysis and reporting on small business on-time payments.
• Perform business integrity screening of financial activities to ensure standards are met.
• Approve customer and vendor master data, maintaining data integrity through checks.
• Prepare corporate card usage reports, monitor compliance, and support stakeholders educationally.
• Manage gifts and benefits reporting, advising on related policies.
• Assist with updates to financial policies, staying informed on relevant legislation and guidelines.
• Identify and resolve errors in transactions or data promptly to maintain system accuracy.
• Liaise with stakeholders to address issues efficiently, ensuring clear communication.
• Support the collection of financial data for senior management reports, providing insights.
• Build and maintain a finance knowledge database, including training materials and process maps.

What you bring :

You should have proven experience in financial analysis or compliance roles within large organizations or government. Technical proficiency with digital tools will help drive process improvements. Your collaborative spirit, clear communication skills, empathy, and attention to detail are essential. Organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and a commitment to ethical practice are also required.

• Analytical skills to interpret complex financial data and identify improvements.
• Proficiency with digital tools and automation platforms such as Microsoft Power Platform (Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate).
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA and Signavio is advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for reports, training, and stakeholder advice.
• Proactive approach and responsibility in team settings.

• Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines.
• Understanding of relevant legislation, regulations, and policies in public sector finance.
