Overview

Horticulturalist role at Kingston City Council. Open Space team responsible for maintenance of garden beds, vegetation within council reserves, roadsides, shopfronts, council buildings and sports grounds. Reporting to the Horticulture Crew Leader.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Crew Leader and team in maintaining Kingston's open space garden beds
  • Foster an environment that encourages open communication, idea sharing and feedback
  • Perform horticultural tasks such as planting, mulching, pruning, weeding and feeding
  • Carry out tasks with safe and efficient use of hand tools and various machinery
  • Communicate effectively within the team to undertake scheduled and reactive works
Skills and Experience / Qualifications
  • Certificate 3 in Horticulture desirable but not essential
  • Medium to rigid license (desirable)
  • Demonstrated ability in relationship development and effective communication
  • Good digital literacy with experience using technology to track and report tasks
  • Strong enthusiasm for knowledge acquisition and continuous learning
Employment Details
  • Full-time permanent position
  • Band 3, $69,181 – $73,600 per annum (dependent on experience) plus superannuation
  • Location: Dingley Village
