Overview

BigLaw M&A Role - Relocate to New York from Australia. We're working with a leading BigLaw firm in New York that's hiring a mid-level Corporate M&A Associate. If you're an Australian-qualified lawyer with solid deal experience, this is a genuine opportunity to break into the US market and work on deals that matter.

The team advises major corporates, sponsors, and investors across sectors like tech, life sciences, defense, and consumer goods. You'll be running workstreams, negotiating documents, and advising on governance, compliance, and disclosure. You'll be working directly with senior stakeholders on cross-border transactions.

Australian-qualified lawyers can apply for the E-3 visa, a fast-tracked route specifically for Australians working in the US. It's a streamlined process and a major advantage for making the move.

Responsibilities
  • Run workstreams on cross-border M&A transactions
  • Draft and negotiate deal documents
  • Advise on governance, compliance, and disclosure
  • Collaborate with senior stakeholders on transaction strategy and execution
What you'll need
  • Australian-qualified lawyer with 3–6 years of M&A experience
  • Strong drafting and negotiation skills
  • Experience in public/private M&A, joint ventures, or strategic partnerships
  • Commercial mindset and ability to juggle multiple matters
  • Willing to relocate to New York and pursue US bar admission
