Rate Guide: $1000 -$1200 per day

Contract Duration: 12 months

Location: ACT (Canberra-based preferred)

Working Arrangements: Onsite (Remote arrangements may be considered case-by-case)

Maximum Hours: 40 hours per week

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to support our government client in delivering data-driven solutions that align with the Australian Government's economic agenda. This role sits within the Chief Information Officer Division (CIOD) and will involve working closely with business areas and project teams to implement data science capabilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver data science solutions that meet business requirements.
  • Collaborate with technical teams to ensure compliance with governance and security requirements.
  • Utilise Azure Machine Learning Studio and Cognitive Services for development and deployment.
  • Contribute to DevOps and MLOps practices in data science workflows.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including detailed designs, configuration documents, and build guides.
Key Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience with DevOps and MLOps in data science environments, particularly with Azure Machine Learning Studio and Cognitive Services.
  • Proven expertise in Microsoft technologies for delivering data science solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
  • Previous experience working in the Australian Government sector, particularly in small project teams.
Working Arrangements

This role is based in Canberra, ACT, with onsite work required. Remote work arrangements may be considered on a case-by-case basis in consultation with the supervising manager. Please indicate your preferred location if outside Canberra.
