For the first time in South Australia, a city hotel is serving as a location for public hospital patients who no longer require acute care to rest and recover in comfort at no cost – while freeing up beds for those in need.

This innovative model of care relocates patients from metropolitan and peri-urban hospital beds to the Pullman Adelaide, in their own rooms within the hotel.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Social Worker to deliver comprehensive care to patients with varying complexity on a full-time fixed-term contract, from 5th September 2025 to 7th November 2025.

Working in an alternate dynamic environment, based at the Pullman Hotel, Adelaide, you will utilize innovative technology and be rewarded in a role where your expertise will contribute to shaping exceptional health outcomes for sub-acute patients. Here's a glimpse of what you will be doing:

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement integrated service models and clinical protocols.
  • Facilitate group sessions and contribute to health promotion activities as required.
  • Provide effective assessment and triage, timely referrals, accurate information, coordinated care, and prompt follow-up.
  • Facilitate discharge planning.
  • Advocate for patients' needs and coordinate access to services.
  • Participate actively in clinical review meetings and continuous professional development.

About you

You are passionate about innovative models of care and excited by this dynamic way of working. Additionally, you have:

  • A degree in Social Work, with eligibility for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Demonstrated experience in a sub-acute or similar healthcare setting.
  • Strong communication, advocacy, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to adapt to evolving service needs.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite and other relevant documentation systems.
  • Hold a South Australian Working with Children Check and National Police Clearance (or are willing and eligible to obtain).
  • If successful, willing and able to provide proof of up-to-date vaccinations.
