The Head of Data & Analytics - Corporate, will be lead the development and have ownership of the AI strategy for the relevant business unit portfolio that they are accountable for. This includes bridging technical expertise with business acumen to apply this technology in a manner that drives improvement in our customer experience, commercial and operational performance, and the care and empowerment of our people.
The position requires designing and delivering trusted, secure, and timely data products that meet business needs across their specific domain. A critical part of the role is driving data governance, encouraging platform adoption, and uplifting data literacy across the domain to foster a more informed and capable workforce. You'll also be responsible for preparing and securing endorsement for individual business cases that support data enablement investments and AI use cases. This includes identifying and mitigating risks, as well as evaluating the broader implications of AI solutions within the corporate context.
The successful individual will also be leading a cross-functional team of subject matter experts—spanning strategy, data science and domain architecture. The role demands the ability to influence senior stakeholders through complex change initiatives, requiring both credibility and confidence, along with strong verbal and written communication skills. Success in this role also hinges on building and maintaining close relationships with key stakeholders, internal customers, and external experts.
The Head of Data & Analytics will work closely with business unit leaders, the Chief AI Officer, other Head's of Data and Analytics and the Group Technology and Cyber leadership team.
Responsibilities- Lead the development and ownership of the AI strategy for the relevant business unit portfolio.
- Bridge technical expertise with business acumen to apply AI/Analytic solutions that drive customer experience, commercial and operational performance, and people empowerment.
- Design and deliver trusted, secure, and timely data products that meet business needs across the domain.
- Drive data governance, platform adoption, and uplift data literacy across the domain.
- Prepare and secure endorsement for business cases that support data enablement investments and AI use cases.
- Identify and mitigate risks and evaluate broader implications of AI solutions within the corporate context.
- Lead a cross-functional team spanning strategy, data science, and domain architecture.
- Influence senior stakeholders through complex change initiatives with strong communication and relationship-building.
- Collaborate with business unit leaders, the Chief AI Officer, other Heads of Data and Analytics, and the Group Technology and Cyber leadership team.
- 10-15 years' experience in senior leadership roles across Data, Analytics & Technology
- Significant demonstrated experience in a large, listed, complex data-led organisation developing strategy and leading teams across Data, Analytics & Technology to mobilise digital customer solutions
- Experience in corporate domains such as People, HR, Finance & Procurement
- Proven ability to drive innovative analytical and technical strategies that grow revenues in a complex, consumer-focused organisation
- Tertiary qualification in a related field
- Involvement in strategy development and implementation
- Understanding of market inter-relationships and implications
- Contributes to strategy beyond own area and to the development of segment strategy
- Strong stakeholder management
- Excellent people management and team development skills with experience leading teams of Data Scientists and Data Engineers
- Excellent stakeholder relations and influencing capabilities with experience presenting to and influencing senior executives
- Customer-driven leader with the ability to drive change and challenge the status quo
