We are seeking a Maintenance Fitter responsible for preventative maintenance, faultfinding, and breakdowns on a range of manufacturing equipment. You will work as part of a team that values teamwork and flexibility to assist each other where required. The role requires an experienced 'hands-on' individual who can work day and afternoon shifts and be on call. This position is within the Maintenance Team, located in Dandenong South, reporting directly to the Facility & Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Proven understanding of the operation and maintenance procedures of all site equipment.
  • Uphold an innovative approach to improve efficiency and performance in all areas.
  • Work in a highly dynamic manner to minimize downtime and optimize plant efficiency.
  • Ensure timely and effective completion of all maintenance tasks.
  • Work autonomously and as part of a team.
  • Exercise strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Undertake shift work and respond to on-call requirements.
  • Perform troubleshooting analysis.
  • Contribute to maintaining a zero LTI (Lost Time Injury) site.
  • Maintain excellent communication skills.

Required Experience

  • Mechanical trade qualifications.
  • Maintenance fitter trade qualifications, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience in food/FMCG manufacturing.
  • Confined Space certification.
  • EWP (Elevated Work Platform) license.
  • Forklift license.
  • Knowledge of servicing equipment, including mechanical components, bearings, and pneumatics.
  • Experience with maintenance databases.
  • Ability to access and reply to emails.

Preferred Experience

  • At least 3 years in a food manufacturing environment with compliance standards.
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Knowledge of interpreting spare parts.
  • Experience in maintenance planning.
