This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Financial Accountant to contribute to a high-performing finance team within the public sector and support key statutory, taxation, and asset management functions.

Description

  • Deliver accurate and timely financial and statutory reporting in compliance with accounting standards and regulations
  • Prepare and review financial statements, journals, reconciliations, and monthly/year-end reports
  • Support internal and external audit processes and implement recommendations to strengthen financial governance
  • Ensure compliance with taxation requirements including BAS, FBT, and TPAR reporting
  • Contribute to asset management accounting, including capitalisation, depreciation, disposals, and reconciliations
  • Maintain data integrity across financial and asset systems and support strategic financial planning

Profile

About you:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce
  • CPA/CA qualified or working towards membership
  • Extensive experience in financial accounting, ideally with exposure to local government, public sector or complex NFP environment
  • Strong understanding of asset management accounting and internal control principles
  • Proficient in financial systems, spreadsheets, and data analysis
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
