Core Engineering, AppBank Operations Specialist, Associate, Sydney

Location: Sydney, NSW, Australia

Salary Range: AUD 100,000 - 130,000

Team Overview:

AppBank Operations is a 24x7, two-city model team supporting the firm's business applications using advanced systems and processes. The team focuses on automating failures with machine learning, monitoring production health, and driving technological innovation.

Job Summary:

As an Associate in AppBank, you will be part of the 'Run-The-Bank' production management team supporting the firm's systems and technologies.

Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and resolve application issues collaboratively
  • Identify defects and trends via log analysis and debugging
  • Manage incidents and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Enhance application stability and performance
  • Utilize tools to automate failure detection and health restoration
  • Identify opportunities for automation and collaborate on implementation
  • Challenge and improve existing application processes
  • Participate in change management to mitigate risks
  • Create and update run books for operational efficiency
  • Develop reports to monitor application health and performance
  • Learn and support proprietary technologies as needed

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of software development experience
  • Knowledge of Data Structures and problem-solving in production environments
  • Strong communication skills for technical and stakeholder interactions
  • Proficiency in Java, C, C++, VB, .NET, ASP, or Angular
  • Experience with RDBMS like Oracle, DB2, or Sybase ASE/IQ

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in Financial Services
  • Knowledge of Cluster Computing and Big Data (Spark, Hadoop, HDSF, XRS)
  • Degree in Computer Science
