The Position

Loreto Toorak invites applications from experienced and passionate VCE English Teachers for a full-time, ongoing role commencing Term 1, 2026. Reporting to the Head of English, the successful candidate will be a passionate and innovative educator, committed to delivering dynamic, inquiry-based English lessons that inspire a love of literature and language. With a strong focus on analytical and engaging teaching practices, you will foster critical thinking and creativity in students.

About You

To be successful in this position, it is essential that you have:

  • Current Teaching Registration (Victorian Institute of Teaching)
  • Proven expertise and knowledge in teaching VCE English
  • Experience teaching Literature will be highly regarded
  • An understanding and appreciation of principles and practices of student learning strategies and styles
  • Excellent communication skills to a range of audiences
  • A collaborative approach with colleagues in planning and delivering curriculum
  • Proven experience in establishing and fostering relationships with students, staff and parents
