This role is field-based and physically demanding, involving weed control work at Wyaralong Dam.

About the Role:

This is a fixed-term casual position until the end of 2025, with potential for extension, based at Wyaralong Dam. Opportunities may arise to work on projects further afield in South East and Central Queensland, requiring overnight stays with provided accommodation and food.

About You:

You are passionate, outdoors-loving, and motivated to create a supportive workplace. You have a positive attitude, a sense of humour, and a strong focus on safety. You enjoy mentoring and motivating your team.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Lead environmental projects and a team of up to 3 staff
• Maintain onsite plant and equipment
• Follow Ausecology's Mobile Management System
• Participate in HSEQ audits and contribute to improvements
• Provide feedback for system enhancements
• Execute fieldwork adhering to safety and quality standards
• Complete required forms and participate in training

Skills and Experience:

• ACDC Licence
• Minimum 3 years in bush regeneration, land conservation, or similar
• At least 1 year of team lead experience
• Experience leading weed control projects
• Plant identification skills (native and exotic)
• Current manual driver's license
• Experience with 4WD and trailers
• Physical ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions, carrying up to 20kg

Highly Regarded:

• Qualification in Conservation and Land/Ecosystem Management or similar
• Ecological burn experience
• First Aid & CPR certification
• Tool and engine maintenance skills
• Remote area work experience
• Chainsaw operation
