The Role:

Cognizant is seeking a L2 System Administrator to provide technical support for Linux and Windows users. Oversee virtualization technologies including VMware and Hyper-V for Linux and Windows VMs.

In your first few weeks in this role, you can expect to:

  1. Manage general administration tasks such as performance troubleshooting; setting up a backup and recovery regime; network configuration and connectivity.
  2. Group Policy object administration.
  3. Facilitate, support and maintain internal and external facing DNS.
  4. Configuration management for forest, domain and organisational unit design recommendations and implementation, time synchronisation and global catalogue server management.
  5. Support active directory.
  6. Raise, review, implement and close RFC related to Server Management.
  7. Contribute to the PMO team in formulating the dashboards for monthly and quarterly reports.
  8. Knowledge of managing web services.
  9. Provide guidance, standards, and recommendations to team.
  10. Identify, communicate and mitigate the risks in the project.
  11. Work with presales team to review the technical solutions.
  12. Demonstrate strong analytical and technical skillset.
  13. Design/Provisioning of Azure/AWS Infrastructure.
  14. Define standards and processes for Azure/AWS provisioning.
  15. Leverage automation scripts and manage script changes.
  16. Manage, build and maintain systems (VMs) on Azure/AWS.
