Our Opportunity

Location: Hedland Operations – Fortescue's Hedland Operations are located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.


Roster: 4 days / 3 off – Residential in Port Hedland (relocation assistance offered).

Join our high-performing Hedland Operations team, where your skills play a vital role in keeping our operations safe, reliable, and running at their best. This is your chance to work on industry-leading technology in a supportive environment that values safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.


Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and repair faults on fixed plant equipment
  • Perform high voltage switching and statutory testing
  • Respond to breakdowns and support shutdowns
  • Maintain and calibrate instrumentation and belt weighers
  • Backup parameters on ABB, Siemens & WEG drives
  • Keep accurate documentation, logbooks, and isolations
  • Drive improvements to boost safety and efficiency

Qualifications And Experience
  • WA A-Grade Electrical Licence
  • HV switching ticket and practical experience
  • Strong fault-finding skills in continuous operations (iron ore experience highly regarded)
  • Knowledge of VSDs, PLCs, Profibus/Profinet/DeviceNet
  • Ability to read and apply electrical schematics, isolation, and permitting
  • Familiarity with SAP, Fiori, or other digital maintenance systems
  • A collaborative approach and leadership capability
