About The Opportunity

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is seeking enthusiastic and reliable Operations Assistants to join our dynamic team across permanent, temporary, full-time, part-time, and casual positions. This is a rewarding opportunity to play a vital role in supporting patient care and theatre operations. You'll be responsible for the safe transportation of patients between wards, theatres, recovery, and other clinical areas, while ensuring the cleanliness and readiness of operating suites.

Your contribution will help maintain a safe, efficient, and compassionate environment for both patients and staff. In this hands-on role, you'll assist with patient positioning, equipment setup, and infection control procedures, as well as support clinical teams with tasks such as transferring patients and maintaining stock levels. You'll also help manage waste removal, cleaning duties, and messenger services throughout the hospital. Safe transportation of patients to and from theatre as well as the cleanliness of theatres.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees. • Do you have experience working in an operating theatre environment, or are you willing to learn the necessary skills to become an effective Operating Assistant?
• Are you able to work a flexible 7-day rotating roster, including weekends, public holidays, and across morning, afternoon, and night shifts?
• How do you demonstrate teamwork and communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing, in a healthcare setting?
• Can you describe your manual handling abilities and your confidence in using basic computer systems to support your role?
