About the Role

We are seeking a dependable and experienced Casual Relief Cook to provide high-quality meal services to residents across multiple Ingenia Gardens communities in Victoria. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing home-style meals in a community setting and is flexible and willing to travel.

As a Relief Cook, you will cover planned and unplanned leave for our regular cooks. You'll prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain kitchen hygiene standards, and ensure residents enjoy a positive dining experience. Expense reimbursement and accommodation may be provided for longer assignments.

Key Responsibilities

Food Preparation and Service

  • Prepare, cook, and serve meals in line with community menus and dietary requirements
  • Ensure all meals are well-presented, nutritious, and delivered on time
  • Reduce waste and manage stock efficiently
  • Monitor and record food temperatures and follow food safety procedures

Cleaning and Sanitation

  • Maintain a clean and hygienic kitchen and dining area
  • Sanitize all kitchen equipment, surfaces, and utensils
  • Handle and store cleaning products safely using correct PPE

Compliance and Safety

  • Follow HACCP guidelines and comply with food safety legislation
  • Wear PPE and follow WHS procedures at all times
  • Report any incidents, hazards, or maintenance issues promptly

Communication and Teamwork

  • Interact respectfully and empathetically with residents
  • Collaborate with community staff to ensure smooth meal service
  • Maintain professional boundaries and protect resident confidentiality

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Food Safety Supervisor Accreditation (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current and valid National Police Check
  • C-Class Driver's Licence and own vehicle
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
  • Knowledge of HACCP and safe food handling practices
