Your day as an Associate AccountantRotations across Financial Stewardship and Public Reporting, Treasury Finance and Services, and Risk, Compliance and Audit teams. This role supports FMS to meet deliverables.
The role contributes to the delivery of the Total State Sector Accounts and key reporting aggregates included in NSW Budget, Half Year Review and Monthly Reporting. It supports the Treasury Finance team in providing internal customer service, and maintains accurate processing of transactional finance services including reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable, in accordance with policies, procedures and legislation.
Assist in ad hoc projects in the Accounting Policy and Advice and Financial Management, Legislation, Policy and Advice teams and prepare work papers for the Treasury Audit and Risk Committee.
Proactively build robust relationships with internal and external stakeholders and contribute to improving outcomes across the NSW Government through effective communication, collaboration, and advocacy with Treasury teams and agency counterparts.

EligibilityTo apply for the Career Launch Program, you will need to have:
- Completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in a relevant discipline (e.g., Accounting, Finance, Economics, Commerce, Business or Law) or expect to complete by February 2026
- Completed or nearing completion of entry requirements to commence CPA Australia, Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand, or the Institute of Public Accountants program
- Australian or New Zealand citizenship or permanent residency of Australia
For ongoing NSW Treasury employment, you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or permanent resident of Australia.
NSW Treasury does not provide relocation expenses or sponsor work visas unless specifically referenced.
The successful candidate will undergo background checks and provide confirmation of tertiary qualifications before commencement.
