About the Role
The Cook will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of Chinese and broader Asian-style dishes, supporting daily kitchen operations and maintaining high food safety and hygiene standards. The role plays a key part in delivering consistent, quality meals during high-volume service periods and works collaboratively with other kitchen staff to support smooth back-of-house operations.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook a range of menu items including entrees, mains, sides and desserts according to traditional Asian recipes (including Chinese, Malaysian and Taiwanese dishes)
- Regulate temperatures of cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers and woks
- Portion, garnish and present food attractively and consistently
- Store and label ingredients correctly, ensuring temperature and hygiene control is maintained
- Assist with planning menus and estimating food requirements as directed
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and allergen requirements at all times
- Assist with inventory management including monitoring stock levels, receiving deliveries and rotating stock

- Plan, prepare and execute menu items across lunch and dinner services, including signature dishes and seasonal offerings
- Supervise and coordinate the work of cooks and kitchenhands to ensure efficiency and consistency
- Ensure dishes are prepared using traditional Chinese and broader Asian techniques, including wok cooking, roasting, steaming, and braising

This role supports the day-to-day operation of takeaway and counter service functions within the restaurant and contributes to the smooth delivery of food and beverage services.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise front-of-house staff including cashiers, counter service staff, and takeaway personnel
- Provide training and guidance to junior retail employees on customer service, sales techniques, and operational procedures
