What to Expect

Tesla is seeking experienced electrical technicians to maintain and service utility scale battery sites, primarily working on the Tesla Megapack battery storage product. In this role, you will join the technician team supporting battery storage sites located within the Moorabool region, to service, troubleshoot, or upgrade medium to high voltage equipment.

Applicants should be self-motivated team players with a positive attitude, who see this as an opportunity to begin building a career with Tesla in the renewable energy infrastructure sector. You will be part of a high performing and tight knit team on site. This position will primarily be based within the Moorabool region, however occasional travel to support other regional sites may be required.

What You'll Do

  • Troubleshoot and repair equipment as defined by the service engineering team
  • Perform complex and precise electro-mechanical debug, rework and repair
  • Perform tasks requiring a high level of skill and patience
  • Operate in Medium and High Voltage environments with a strong safety focus
  • Use a variety of hand tools, power tools and LV/MV/HV test equipment for diagnosis and troubleshooting
  • Develop and follow best practices and procedures for maintenance activities related to Tesla Energy equipment
  • Maintain high levels of communication and provide daily updates of work completed, problems identified, and timelines
  • Be flexible to provide support outside your region and possibly outside the country as required
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to support growth and diversity across applications
  • Actively work across Powerpack and Megapack Utility sites to meet operations and maintenance requirements and maintain a healthy, high-performing fleet

What You'll Bring

  • Certified Electrician (Cert III (3)+ in Electrical/Electro Technology)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience, with at least 3 years' electrical experience within the Utility sector (Solar/Wind experience preferred)
  • Up-to-date Electrical Registration/License
  • HV switching certification and experience
  • SCADA operating experience is a plus
  • Ability to work from complex and detailed documentation and/or verbal and written instructions
  • Strong computer skills, ability to utilise proprietary and 3rd party OEM software
  • Ability to communicate and function well in a mobile office setting
  • Ability to read and understand manufacturing instructions, electrical diagrams, and mechanical drawings
  • Reliable, proactive, quality-focused
  • Willingness to work outdoors, occasionally on the road at unusual hours
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Knowledge of operation and maintenance of a wide variety of hand and power tools, shop tools, and test equipment
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with colleagues and the public
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize workload, and meet deadlines
  • Maintain professional integrity and appearance
