Empirical Solutions is seeking a highly capable and detail-oriented Technical Project Manager – Maritime Sustainment to support our In-Service Support engineering team. Based in Canberra, this full-time role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your maritime engineering expertise in support of secure fleet operations and national capability.

You'll be part of a team that ensures the operational readiness, certification, and sustainment of maritime assets—delivering technical assurance and maintenance oversight across a complex and regulated environment.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Ensure all survey and audit requirements are met, and strategies are in place to maintain certification
  • Oversee depot-level, intermediate, and corrective maintenance to required standards
  • Provide technical and operational support and guidance to fleet operations
  • Coordinate attendance of service engineers and contractors for asset support
  • Monitor planned maintenance schedules and ensure timely actioning of tasks
  • Maintain compliance with relevant maritime and industry standards
  • Ensure vessels carry adequate stocks of critical spare parts onboard
  • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including maintenance records and certification reports
What We're Looking For

We welcome applications from professionals who bring:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience in marine engineering or maritime project management, or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of vessel maintenance cycles and certification frameworks
  • Experience supporting regulated maritime operations or fleet environments
  • Ability to manage technical data and documentation in compliance-driven settings
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and contractor coordination skills
  • NV1 security clearance (or ability to obtain and maintain)
Desirable Qualifications & Experience

You'll be highly regarded if you also bring:

  • Prior experience in maritime sustainment programs or government-aligned operations
  • Familiarity with class society requirements and Australian maritime regulations
  • Demonstrated leadership in continuous improvement and technical assurance
  • Experience influencing sustainment strategy and policy in structured environments
