About The RoleIn this role, you'll create clear, inclusive, and engaging communications for Merri-bek's multicultural, multilingual, and multifaith communities.
Responsibilities- Developing multilingual content such as pamphlets, information sheets, videos with in-language subtitles, and social media campaigns.
- Promoting Council programs and services through community radio, multicultural newspapers, and digital channels.
- Working closely with community members, groups, and internal teams to shape communication strategies that reflect the needs of our diverse communities.
- Supporting projects across Council to make sure multilingual communications are included in planning.
- Helping track and report on the impact of our communications.
- Tertiary qualification in any discipline; or a lesser qualification with relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting communications initiatives and campaigns.
- Experience working with multicultural and multilingual communities.
- A demonstrated ability to use initiative and be proactive in community outreach.
- Ability to manage a range of stakeholders, problem solve and work well with others.
- Experience working in project or program delivery, or in a related area.
- Ability to speak a Merri-bek community language is highly desired – For example, but not exclusive to: Italian, Greek, Arabic, Turkish, Nepali, Urdu, Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin and Hindi.
