About this role :

Transition to Practice is a pathway of dedicated support, supervision, and professional development for enrolled nurses with less than six months of experience since initial registration.

The Enrolled Nurse - Transition to Practice role requires :

• Knowledge of the NMBA Enrolled Nurse Standards of Practice and the ability to apply them in the role.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including maintaining written documentation and working effectively as part of a team.
• The ability to deliver person-centered nursing care that reflects individual needs and to evaluate care outcomes.

Positions are available in diverse settings including metropolitan, district hospitals, communities, and Rural Health Services. We aim to match applicants with their preferences, but this cannot be guaranteed.

Details of appointment :

Roles are permanent, full-time, and part-time, with shift work and day work available, working a minimum of 48 hours and up to 76 hours per fortnight starting October 2025.

• 48-hour positions are based on visa restrictions; hours may increase to at least 64 hours once full working rights are obtained.
• The selection process may fill similar vacancies for twelve months from the publication date.

Your placement is for 12 months; ongoing employment is not guaranteed. Duties and locations may vary based on service needs and your qualifications, with consultation regarding changes.

Multiple positions are available in Hobart, Tasmania, starting from 26 October 2025, with full-time, part-time, and casual options, working a minimum of 48 hours up to 76 hours per fortnight.

Note: This process may be used to fill similar vacancies for twelve months after publication.

Location : Hobart, Tasmania

Salary : $70,980 to $78,179 per annum (Pro rata), plus 12% superannuation. Allowances such as Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% may apply.

Salary Packaging : Benefits include living expenses up to $9,010, $2,650 in meal entertainment per FBT year, and other benefits if eligible.

Eligibility :

• Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse.
• Current Driver's Licence (for Community Nurse roles).

Desirable criteria include:

• Less than six months of experience since initial registration.
• Less than two years since completing your Enrolled Nurse qualification.
