The Head of Business and Operations will oversee the financial and operational management of a not-for-profit organisation. This role is based in the Northern Suburbs of Melbourne and is ideal for a strategic thinker with strong leadership experience.

This not-for-profit organisation is focused on delivering impactful programs that create positive change in the community. As a small-sized entity, they are looking for a professional who can manage both the strategic and operational aspects of their work.

Description

  • Oversee the organisation's financial operations, including budgeting and reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and not-for-profit guidelines.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies to support organisational goals.
  • Manage and support the administration and facilities teams.
  • Responsible for managing a diverse range of external stakeholders overseeing multiple priorities.
  • Provide strategic advice to the leadership team on financial and operational matters.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including funders and suppliers.
  • Monitor and enhance organisational risk management frameworks.
  • Lead improvement initiatives to optimise processes and resources.

Profile

A successful Head of Business and Operations should have:

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in either Business, Finance, Law, HR or similar
  • Strong Finance expertise with oversight of financial management, budget development and compliance reporting.
  • Expertise in the not-for-profit sector or Education would be beneficial
  • Strong operational and strategic planning skills.
  • Experience with compliance and risk management practices.
  • Ability to lead and manage diverse teams effectively.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and decision-making.
