About This Job

Position Information

Fairfield High School is a comprehensive secondary high school, located in south Western Sydney, with an enrolment of approximately 1100 students. A well-established Intensive English Centre is located on site as part of the high school community, which caters for newly arrived students from overseas, refugees and international students. The school has seven special education classes that support the learning of students with intellectual disabilities and autism.

The school community is culturally and linguistically diverse with 74.43% of students EAL/D, and 1.18% of students identifying as Aboriginal and / or Torres Strait Islander. The school currently has a Family Occupation Education Index (FOEI) of 186.

Specific Selection Criteria

• Approval to teach Technology Mandatory (Years 7-8) Timber or Metals.
• Capacity to deliver engaging and differentiated teaching programs to meet a diverse range of student learning needs.
• Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work as a collaborative member of the Technological and Applied Studies Faculty.
• Capacity for effective classroom management, and practices that support an inclusive learning environment, which promotes positive relationships with students and parents.
  
  

Conditions

An unconditional full approval to teach is a requirement. If you do not hold a full approval to teach with the NSW Department of Education, you are required to commence the application process at the same time as you apply for this teaching opportunity.
