Dance Teacher

Due to significant growth in Dance, Downlands College is seeking applications from qualified teachers registered with the Queensland College of Teachers for a full-time, fixed-term (12 months) position as a secondary Dance teacher, commencing at the start of the 2026 Academic Year.

Owned and operated by the Missionaries of the Sacred Heart, Downlands has a long history of academic, sporting and cultural achievement. Nurtured by a deeply committed team of teachers and support staff, our tradition fosters an educational philosophy that is heart-centred and values-driven.

More recently, the Downlands College Dance program has grown exponentially and experienced great success, both locally and on the national stage.

Requirements

Qualifications to teach Secondary Dance

Qualifications to teach in a second subject area, preferably Physical Education or English

Capacity to teach Religious Education may be advantageous

Confidence in extending and enriching student learning

Willingness to contribute to the co-curricular life of the College

Knowledge and understanding of the AITSL Professional Standards and their relevance to effective teaching and learning
