THE OPPORTUNITY

Reporting to the Mining Production Supervisor (Load & Ancillary), the role of Ancillary Operator offers you the chance to hone your production skills in a hard rock mining environment, operating a variety of mobile equipment, and taking ownership of your role. As a valued member of PLS and our Mining Production team, you'll work safely and collaboratively towards targeted production outcomes and offer guidance to your fellow Truck operators.

This is a permanent full-time role operating on an 8/6, 7/7 (Days & Nights) FIFO roster from Perth or DIDO in the Pilbara region.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Operate heavy mobile equipment, primarily Track Dozers, Wheel Loaders, and Graders in a hard rock open-cut mining environment.
2. Contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
3. Support Load and Haul activities, including preparation work for drill patterns, clearing new areas, and maintaining infrastructure such as haul roads, waste dumps, and ROM pads.
4. Assist loader operators to load dump trucks efficiently.
5. Record production data daily for reporting to the Mining Production Supervisor.
6. Maintain high standards of housekeeping in all work areas.
7. Conduct machinery pre-start checks to identify faults or hazards.
8. Operate machinery within specifications and site requirements.
9. Participate in training and development opportunities.
10. Use the Fleet Management System relevant to the machine operated.
11. Work collaboratively with a can-do attitude, following industry best practices.
12. Assist with other tasks and operate mobile machinery as required.

ABOUT YOU

• Experience with ancillary mining mobile plant such as Track Dozers, Wheel Loaders, Graders, Rock Breakers, Excavators, Dump Trucks, and Water Carts.
• Experience operating 200T+ Excavators in a hard rock mining environment is advantageous.
• Attention to detail to prevent ore contamination.
• Experience with fleet management systems, ideally MineStar.
• Team-oriented with a passion for achieving goals together.
• Flexible approach to work, including operating other machinery and hot seating activities.
• Ability to work 12.5-hour shifts, including nights.
• Strong safety focus and adherence to industry best practices.
• Current WA Driver's licence, HR preferred.
