The role of a ROM Pad Operator is crucial in the efficient operation and maintenance of multiple ore sources.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and safety checks are performed daily to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Operating ROM Production Loaders and ancillary equipment as required is an essential duty.
  • Adequate supply of Crusher feed blends and mill feed blends is ensured.
  • Effective removal of tramp material from ROM crusher feed.
  • Accurate records of material movement through the Loadrite system are maintained.
  • High housekeeping standards are maintained on the ROM and machinery.
  • Liaising with truck operators to ensure correct load placement.
  • Met ROM management Key Performance Indicators.
  • Communication with Underground dump trucks and Roads Trains is effective.

This role requires strong teamwork skills, actively contributing to team and company goals. Managing competing priorities effectively within a dynamic environment is also essential.

To be considered for this position, you will need:

  • Significant experience working in ROM pad operations.
  • A current C Class manual driver's license is necessary.
  • Mechanical skills are required.
  • Nationally accredited tickets for Front End Loaders, Excavator, and Rock breaker.
  • Forklift and Integrated Tool Carrier tickets are preferred but not essential.
  • A proven employment history as a considerate and hardworking team member.
  • The ability to learn and solve problems independently.
  • A First Aid Certificate would be highly regarded.
  • Physical fitness for long hours in sometimes harsh conditions.
  • A commitment to safety and Fitness for Work.
  • A National Police Clearance that meets requirements.
  • Effective communication with people at all levels.
