The Project

UGL and CPB Contractors have been selected by Transgrid to deliver the ~140km western section of the HumeLink high voltage electricity transmission project.

HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission project connecting Wagga Wagga, Maragle, and Bannaby in regional NSW, significantly increasing the capacity of Australia's eastern electricity network. It is one of Australia's largest energy infrastructure projects, involving about 365 km of new transmission lines and other infrastructure.

The HumeLink West scope, valued at $1.4bn, includes the delivery of new 500kV double circuit transmission lines spanning approximately 140 km from Wagga Wagga Substation to a new substation at Gugaa, with connections near Gundagai and Maragle for future integration with Snowy 2.0.

Role Responsibilities
  • Assist tradespeople with substation works
  • Hand tools to tradespeople and hold tools not immediately required
  • Perform assembly and dismantling operations, such as screwing and bolting
  • Obtain store supplies necessary to complete tasks, including materials and tools
  • Transport tools, materials, and workpieces to and from sites or workbenches
Qualifications and Experience
  • White Card
  • Driver's Licence
  • High Risk Work Licence – Work Platform
  • Working at Heights/Confined Spaces
  • High risk work licenses for EWP, forklift, or telehandler (Desirable)
  • Experience working on a substation (preferred)
