With multiple locations across Canberra, and nationwide, the organisation seeks only the most skilled and professional individuals to assist them in developing programs, policies and initiatives that will improve the quality of life for vulnerable Australians.

The Role

Are you ready to lead the development of cutting-edge cyber security technologies and processes? This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enhancing the defensive posture of a federal agency. You will work collaboratively with internal stakeholders and the Cyber Security Operations Centre (SOC) to deliver innovative solutions and drive continual improvement in a cloud-first environment.

Your duties will include:

  • Developing and refining cyber security technologies, including SIEM, SOAR, and Threat Intelligence platforms
  • Collaborating with internal teams to deliver key cyber security projects
  • Introducing and advancing orchestration and automation technologies
  • Mentoring junior staff and simplifying complex technologies into actionable processes
  • Producing high-quality documentation, including architectural designs and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Participating in procurement activities and providing specialist advice

Skills and Experience we are looking for:

  • Proven SIEM engineering experience with platforms such as Splunk Enterprise Security, Microsoft Sentinel, or AWS Security Hub
  • Expertise in Vulnerability Management using tools like Microsoft Defender, Rapid 7, or Tenable
  • Experience managing Threat Intelligence platforms such as Threatstream or ThreatIQ
  • Demonstrated automation experience in cyber security platforms
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps monitoring and Threat Modelling tools
  • Strong documentation and mentoring skills
