About the Role
We're looking for an experienced and commercially astute Senior Business Development Manager to drive our growth in the Western Australian mining sector. This is a newly created position based in Perth, offering the chance to play a key role in expanding a well-established national blasting services business into a major strategic market.
In this role, you'll use your knowledge of the WA mining industry and your existing networks to identify and secure new contracts, build long-term client relationships, and help shape our presence in the region.
Your Responsibilities
Lead business development activities across WA, targeting opportunities in open pit, underground, and emerging mineral sectors including iron ore, gold, copper, and rare earths.
Proactively identify, pursue, and win high-value work with major and mid-tier mining companies.
Build strong, lasting relationships with procurement leaders, site management, and key decision-makers.
Represent the business at industry events, networking opportunities, and tender presentations.
Work closely with technical, operational, and leadership teams to develop tailored proposals and solutions.
Manage the tender process from start to finish, including contract negotiations.
Provide market intelligence and competitor insights to inform strategy.
Keep CRM records up to date with leads, client interactions, and pipeline activity.
What We're Looking For
At least 7 years' experience in business development within the mining industry, with a strong track record in the WA market.
Demonstrated success securing contracts with mid to large mining operators.
A well-established professional network across procurement, engineering, and mine leadership.
Solid understanding of drill and blast services, explosives, and mining operations.
Strong commercial acumen with the ability to translate technical capability into client value.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Self-motivated and results-driven, able to work independently while being part of a national team.
Tertiary qualifications in Mining, Business, or a related field will be highly regarded.
