As a Senior Business Development Manager, you will shape the future of specialist lending in Western Australia by cultivating meaningful connections with brokers, aggregators, and key industry players. Your day-to-day activities will involve engaging directly with your network, visiting partners regularly to ensure they feel supported, informed, and empowered. You will manage an active sales pipeline from lead generation through to deal closure while delivering tailored advice on residential specialist loans and commercial lending opportunities. You will mentor your broker network to unlock growth and gather market insights that inform product development. Success relies on combining strategic thinking with hands-on relationship management in an inclusive, collaborative team environment.
- Develop and execute a focused visiting strategy to maintain high levels of interaction with brokers and aggregators across Western Australia.
- Proactively manage a robust sales pipeline, identify new opportunities, follow up leads diligently, and convert prospects into successful outcomes.
- Provide exceptional servicing support to brokers regarding new residential specialist loans and commercial loan enquiries with timely and accurate information.
- Educate brokers about the benefits of residential specialist and commercial loan products to help them grow their businesses.
- Onboard new broker groups while nurturing existing relationships to foster long-term collaboration and loyalty.
- Act as a trusted business mentor for your broker network, guiding expansion of referral sources and market potential.
- Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to identify product or policy innovations for Western Australia.
- Ensure compliance with consumer lending policies and legislation while maintaining high ethical standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop growth strategies aligned with organisational objectives and sustainable expansion.
- Utilise advanced stakeholder management to negotiate mutually beneficial agreements that meet broker and organisational goals.
To excel as a Senior Business Development Manager, you should have extensive experience in non-conforming or specialist lending and a strong network within local broker communities. Demonstrated ability to interpret regulations and communicate clearly with stakeholders, with a collaborative, team-oriented approach. You should anticipate market shifts and pursue continuous improvement.
- Experience in Non-Conforming or Specialist lending with a proven track record in business development and relationship management across diverse client portfolios.
- Comprehensive understanding of consumer lending policies, relevant legislation, and regulatory requirements in Australia.
- Established presence among aggregators and key broker groups in Western Australia within non-conforming or specialist lending.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and a history of providing excellent service and expert advice to clients at all levels.
- Experience onboarding new broker groups while maintaining strong relationships with existing partners.
- Advanced stakeholder management and negotiation skills delivering win-win outcomes.
- Ability to develop growth strategies and implement tactical plans to secure new opportunities.
- Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
- Full, current driver's licence for regular travel across Western Australia.
- Experience with Commercial Mortgage lending is advantageous but not required.
