About Yarrawonga HealthSituated on the heart of the Murray River, Yarrawonga Health provides acute, surgical, community and aged care support for the region. We are just a few hours from Melbourne, with opportunities to enjoy the region's offerings—from wineries and snow fields to water and boating on the Murray River.
Key Responsibilities- Practice in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council Competency Standards for the Enrolled Nurse.
- Assist with the implementation of care plans under the direction of healthcare professionals.
- Demonstrate commitment to person-centred care and best practice standards.
- Provide for the physical and emotional needs of residents, patients, or clients by assisting with activities of daily living and encouraging appropriate self-care.
- Ensure the delivery of a high standard of evidence-based nursing care to consumers.
- Demonstrate and maintain competency in the performance of clinical skills.
- Provide nursing care of individuals and groups within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice.
- Complete comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients/residents.
- Identify deviations or changes in a patient's condition and respond promptly; monitor vital observations and deterioration indicators.
- Develop and document a plan of care in consultation with the patient/resident and relevant others, identifying expected outcomes and timeframes.
- Maintain accurate and current medical records meeting professional and legal standards.
- Record observations and report changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
- Document incidents and maintain confidentiality in line with Yarrawonga Health policies and national legislation.
- Establish and maintain effective communication with all health professionals, support staff, consumers, families, the community and external care providers.
- Relay important information to the supervising healthcare professional.
- Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections within the healthcare facility.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary environment.
- Follow safety protocols to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff.
- Identify and report safety hazards in the healthcare facility.
- Compassion and empathy.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team.
- Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and manual dexterity.
- Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and procedures.
- Current Nursing Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Achievement of competencies of an Enrolled Nurse in accordance with criteria as prescribed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
- Demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
- Possess knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the National Health Reform, National Standards and Aged Care Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent clinical care standards in accordance with Yarrawonga Health philosophy, policies and procedures.
- Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to work independently.
- Ability to represent as a patient advocate.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
