About Yarrawonga Health

Key Responsibilities

• Practice in accordance with the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Accreditation Council Competency Standards for the Enrolled Nurse.
• Assist with the implementation of care plans under the direction of healthcare professionals.
• Demonstrate commitment to person-centred care and best practice standards.
• Provide for the physical and emotional needs of residents, patients, or clients by assisting with activities of daily living and encouraging appropriate self-care.
• Ensure the delivery of a high standard of evidence-based nursing care to consumers.
• Demonstrate and maintain competency in the performance of clinical skills.

Clinical/Management Of Care

• Provide nursing care of individuals and groups within the Enrolled Nurse scope of practice.
• Complete comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients/residents.
• Identify deviations or changes in a patient's condition and respond promptly; monitor vital observations and deterioration indicators.
• Develop and document a plan of care in consultation with the patient/resident and relevant others, identifying expected outcomes and timeframes.

Documentation

• Maintain accurate and current medical records meeting professional and legal standards.
• Record observations and report changes in patient condition to the healthcare team.
• Document incidents and maintain confidentiality in line with Yarrawonga Health policies and national legislation.

Communication

• Establish and maintain effective communication with all health professionals, support staff, consumers, families, the community and external care providers.
• Relay important information to the supervising healthcare professional.

Infection Control

• Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections within the healthcare facility.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary environment.

Safety

• Follow safety protocols to ensure the well-being of both patients and staff.
• Identify and report safety hazards in the healthcare facility.

Skills And Abilities

• Compassion and empathy.
• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work well in a team.
• Physical stamina and the ability to perform tasks that may require lifting and manual dexterity.
• Attention to detail and the ability to follow protocols and procedures.

Qualifications

• Current Nursing Registration with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).

Key Selection Criteria

• Achievement of competencies of an Enrolled Nurse in accordance with criteria as prescribed by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
• Demonstrate well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess knowledge of relevant legislation, particularly the National Health Reform, National Standards and Aged Care Standards.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent clinical care standards in accordance with Yarrawonga Health philosophy, policies and procedures.
• Ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and to work independently.
• Ability to represent as a patient advocate.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
