Disability Support Worker - South Grafton 2460

A Personal Carer is required to assist with all aspects of personal care and domestic duties with some limited meal preparation.

Anyone living locally with a background in disability/aged care supportwould be considered highly desirable, however, reliable and compassionate applicants with a genuine interest are also encouraged to apply

About you

You are positive, honest and reliable with a good work ethic.

You follow instructions well and understand the importance of providing individualized support within a home environment.

You are fit, healthy and familiar with the manual handling tasks that go hand-in-hand when assisting a person with a disability.

You are efficient with time management, as well as, flexible and easy going as things can change in daily life.

You are looking for long term employment within a supportive and respectful environment.

Preferably no allergies to animals.

About the Role

You will be working closely with the member in their own home providing care and supports which include:

Assistance in the community (taking Member for a walk one day a week)

Manual Handling (Lifter / hoist transfers, hi-lo bed, wheelchair, slide sheet)

Assistance / administer medications

Assistance with feeding / eating (Dysphagia management)

Assistance with passive exercises

Some Domestic duties (limited)

Support Shifts are flexible and available across 7 days / week .

An excellent casual hourly rate is on offer plus superannuation.

Penalty rates apply for weekend work in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2020.

There is the possibility of days and hours increasing, as well as relief work on occasion for the right person.

Mandatory Criteria

Criminal Record Check compulsory

Current First Aid Certificate

Car and current UnrestrictedDrivers License

Preferred requirements

Qualifications or Experience in Aged Care and/or Disability Support
