What we expect from you

Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant subject.

  • Lead an engineering function within a sub-domain of a product area and oversee cross-cutting initiatives across engineering.
  • Co-own and drive the delivery of sub-domain OKRs with product and design counterparts.
  • Manage multiple squads to ensure high-quality, secure software delivery in an Agile environment, including overseeing activities like architecture discussions and solution design, providing updates to senior stakeholders, and assisting teams facing challenges.
  • Assess hiring needs, develop hiring strategies, and onboard new team members.
  • Build strong relationships and collaborate closely with product, commercial, UX, and client teams.
  • Work with architecture and principal engineers to identify the best technical solutions and engineering practices.
  • Continuously seek opportunities for improvement in Agile processes, technology adoption, and engineering practices across the domain.
  • Maintain a hands-on role in code development, coding up to 40% for mature teams or 20% for new teams.
  • Manage engineering managers, lead engineers, and engineers, setting clear expectations, supporting career development, reviewing delivery plans, and conducting HR processes.
  • Define and execute the engineering roadmap, such as cloud migration and shift-left initiatives.
  • Establish team OKRs quarterly, review progress, and communicate with stakeholders.
  • Oversee resource planning and budgeting within your allocated scope, including hiring and onboarding.
  • Collaborate with Product Management to define the team's purpose, goals, and roadmap.
  • Build applications using C# .NET Core with a React frontend.
  • Experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and cloud providers (GCP, Azure, AWS).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Octopus, GitLab, Argo.
  • Drive individual development plans and coaching for team growth.
