Royal North Shore Hospital is a principal tertiary referral hospital for Northern Sydney Local Health District providing a comprehensive range of complex services to patients from across NSW. It has a strong and proud history in education, research and provision of high quality clinical care. Royal North Shore Hospital provides specialty services including major trauma, severe burns, spinal cord injuries, neonatal intensive care, bone marrow transplantation, neurosurgery and interventional neuroradiology alongside acute medical, surgical, mental health, paediatric, cancer and maternity services. The campus is also home to The Kolling – a medical research institute jointly governed with the University of Sydney

What You'll Be Doing

This position is appropriate for medical officers (PGY 4 and above) who are interested in training in intensive care medicine. Trainees will either be registered with, or in the process of applying to, the College of Intensive Care Medicine (CICM). The position is suitable for trainees at all stages of their training and based on clinical experience and level of training, the ICU will then determine the most appropriate clinical role to align with the units' operational requirements and trainees' requirements. The purpose of the position is to provide effective clinical management and excellent care to critically ill patients under the supervision of an Intensive Care Specialist. Trainees will be expected to develop expertise in medical practice in a complex clinical environment, and to participate in the core training program of the College of Intensive Care Medicine.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases

To be employed by NSW Health you are required to provide evidence of vaccination to comply with the NSW Health Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases Policy PD2024_015, this includes any amendments made from time to time.
