Forklift/Material Handler

Job Description Summary

Operates a forklift to move raw materials, work in process and finished goods. This is a first shift position, 6a - 2p. Competitive benefits package, including free short term disability and life insurance, medical, dental, vision, prescription drug, 401(k), paid vacation, and personal days. Hourly rate is $16.70/hour.

Job Description

  • Supplies operators with materials to be utilized in the manufacturing process.
  • Moves raw material and work in process to designated workstations.
  • Receives finished goods and stores in designated areas.
  • Fuels forklift and conducts an inspection of the vehicle prior to beginning duties.
  • Initiates work orders to keep forklift in proper order.
  • Inspects raw material packaging, work in process and finished goods on a continuous basis for signs of deterioration.

Required Skills And Education

High school diploma or GED preferred but not required. Previous forklift driving experience required, preferably in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Must be able to pass forklift certification and demonstrate safe driving habits.
