Are you an organised, proactive professional with a passion for animals and people? We're seeking a motivated Assistant Practice Manager to support and elevate our veterinary practice. This is a part-time leadership opportunity suited for someone with experience in administration or healthcare management eager to make an impact.

About The Practice

Both our practices are award-winning, with VSBSA hospital accreditation at Pet Universe Broadview. Pet Universe Northgate has an increasingly complex surgical & rehabilitation caseload along with our unique feline-only entrance. Both hold Gold Cat Friendly Accreditation from the International Feline Medicine Society.

About the Role

As Assistant Practice Manager, you'll coordinate daily operations, support our veterinary team, and contribute to a positive workplace culture. Responsibilities include rostering, payroll, compliance, and workflow management. You'll act as a trusted second-in-charge to the Practice Manager.

What You'll Be Doing

  1. Day-to-Day Operations & Administration
  2. Manage daily admin tasks to ensure smooth practice operations
  3. Coordinate staff rosters and approve payroll via Employment Hero
  4. Oversee healthcare plans and insurance processes
  5. Monitor OHS compliance and support team wellbeing
  6. Handle banking and communication tasks
  7. Assist with new projects and initiatives
  8. Support transition to new technologies like cloud-based PMS
  9. Conduct research for business development

3. Quality & Culture

  1. Maintain high clinical, customer service, and operational standards
  2. Foster a positive, inclusive, and collaborative team environment
  3. Ensure workflows and systems reflect our commitment to excellence

  • Experience in administration, management, or healthcare
  • Confident communicator with leadership skills
  • Tech-savvy and process-oriented
  • Passion for animals and veterinary care
  • Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
  • Availability to work 3-4 days a week
