Overview

ICT Project Manager role for a federal government agency with offices in the ACT. This contract position runs ASAP through June 2026 with potential extension. Australian Citizenship with NV1 clearance is required.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive ICT strategy that aligns with the agency's business goals and objectives.
  • Oversee and manage the transition of ICT services, ensuring value for money, continuity of services, and a fit-for-purpose solution.
  • Provide strong and considered advice to agency stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with business leaders across the agency to understand technology needs and ensure these are met in the transition delivery.
  • Build and maintain relationships with other departments, and negotiate and manage contracts and agreements as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical staff, including guidance on technology matters.
  • Ensure the security and reliability of IT systems and data, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and protect sensitive information.
  • Oversee day-to-day operations of the ICT Operations team, including staff, budgets, and resources.
Criteria
  • Financial management: Level 4 (SFIA) - Monitors and maintains financial records for compliance and audit; assists with cost identification and budgeting; provides financial data for decision-making.
  • Project management: Level 5 (SFIA) - Takes full responsibility for medium-scale projects, provides leadership, manages change control, risks, and ensures plans are maintained; delivers regular stakeholder communication; ensures quality reviews and that deliverables meet cost, time, and resource budgets.
  • Stakeholder relationship management: Level 5 (SFIA) - Identifies stakeholder communications needs, facilitates engagement strategies and activities, acts as a single point of contact, and supports decision-making with information.
