Overview

The role involves assisting with food preparation for patients, staff, the cafeteria and special events, with a focus on high-quality hospital food production and cleanliness in line with the Food Safety Plan, relevant HACCP standards and Hospital policy.

Responsibilities
  • Cold larder preparation and handling of food
  • Preparation and cooking of meals
  • Understanding patient dietary requirements
  • Maintaining a clean environment
  • Washing and cleaning down of equipment
  • Daily completion of food and safety log sheets
  • Compliance with food safety and HACCP
  • Ordering of food and supplies
  • Stock rotation
Skills and Experience
  • Certificate in Commercial Cooking
  • Minimum 12 months experience as a Chef
  • Ability to cater to a wide variety of sensitive dietary requirements
  • Thorough understanding of allergy management practices
  • Excellent work ethic, customer service, time management and ability to work in a team
  • Good communication skills
  • Ability to work in a multicultural and diverse workplace
  • Previous healthcare setting experience is highly regarded
