Automotive Used Car Buyer

We're on the hunt for an experienced Group Buyer to join a leading dealership group in the Illawarra region . If you know used car buying inside-out and thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, this leadership role could be your next move.

You'll be responsible for sourcing 300+ quality used vehicles each month across multiple channels—private sellers, auctions, wholesalers, fleets, and more. You'll also lead and mentor a team of buyers , ensuring top performance, profitability, and strategic growth across the group.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Develop and execute smart vehicle acquisition strategies
  • Maintain strict quality and profitability standards
  • Analyse market data, trends, and pricing to inform buying decisions
  • Build relationships with key suppliers and partners
  • Recruit, train, and lead a high-performing team
  • Collaborate with GMs, Used Car Managers, and reconditioning teams

What You'll Need :

Strong background in automotive buying or wholesaleLeadership experience in a results-driven environmentDeep knowledge of vehicle valuation and retail trendsGreat negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skillsAbility to handle high volumes and tight deadlinesFamiliarity with dealership systems and sourcing toolsCurrent driver's licence and willingness to travel
