What You'll Be Doing

The Lead Pharmacy Technician manages and supervises the team of pharmacy assistants and technicians at Liverpool Hospital and is an essential part of the Pharmacy Leadership team, working closely with the Deputy and Director of Pharmacy.

This position is responsible for the management and supervision of the technical pharmacy staff, including rostering of the technical workforce to ensure that all areas of the pharmacy have adequate technical staff support. This position is responsible for all education, training and staff development of the technical pharmacy workforce.

This position also coordinates inventory management of pharmaceuticals throughout the facility, including on the wards and in the pharmacy department. This includes ordering, managing out of stock medicines, contract compliance, invoicing and rolling stocktake of LVH Pharmacy inventory.

Where You'll Be Working

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, providing services to the local government area of Liverpool City Council as well as district services to residents and visitors in the area. It also provides a range of state-wide services in areas such as critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care and brain injury rehabilitation.

The Hospital provides a health service of international standing, with 23 operating theatres, capacity for 877 beds, diagnostic and imaging services, emergency and trauma care, maternity, paediatric, cancer care, mental health, ambulatory care, allied health and medical and surgical services from birth to aged care.

Liverpool Hospital is currently undergoing a major redevelopment. The $790 million Liverpool Health and Academic Precinct (LHAP) project will provide enhanced facilities and an increased capacity to meet future significant population growth for South Western Sydney.

Liverpool Hospital is a principal referral and teaching Hospital of the UNSW Sydney and the Western Sydney University and also welcome students from over 20 universities and colleges.

Located in the heart of Liverpool City, the hospital is close to public transport, shopping centres and eateries.

  • Certificate IV in Hospital Health Pharmacy Support or has qualifications deemed by the employer to be equivalent and accredited qualifications in management studies of a formal nature recognised by the Health Service
  • Tell us about your experience in leading a team of pharmacy support staff, including your role in rostering, workforce development and building capacity within a team.
  • Describe your experience in pharmacy procurement and inventory management, including examples of initiatives you've implemented to improve efficiency in cost and/or workflow.
