Location : Mossman, Far North QLD 4873, home of the Kuku Yalanji People

Employment Type : Part Time - 12.5 hours per week (2.5 hours daily Monday to Friday)

Pay : up to $32.43 per hour + Superannuation + Benefits

As a Cook at Goodstart, you'll create delicious, healthy meals that fuel young minds and bodies, becoming a cherished part of our community. Your passion for food and commitment to quality will play a crucial role in shaping the daily experiences of the children in our care.

In this role, you will :

• Ensure the safety of children by preparing meals to account for special dietary requirements and allergies
• Use your creativity and organisational skills to plan the menu and order food supplies in consultation with the Centre Director
• Maintain high standards of food safety by ensuring all storage, handling and preparation of food and drinks is hygienic
• Work a part time roster of 12.5 hours per week (2.5 hours daily Monday to Friday), no night shifts, no split shifts and no weekend work

Our small, 62-place centre is located on Kuku Yalanji land, nestled amidst stunning rainforests. The cool and rainy climate creates a wonderful natural environment for both children and staff.

Our team includes a diverse group, from trainees to seasoned educators with up to 20 years of experience in the industry. We bring a wide range of knowledge and continuously learn and grow from one another each day. The centre operates from 6 : 30 AM to 5 : 30 PM, providing a supportive and enriching environment for everyone involved.

You'll need :

• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or experience cooking within a childcare setting
• Current Queensland Working with Children Check (Blue Card)
