About the career opportunity

As Capital Transactions Manager within the funds management team, you will be responsible for originating, managing and executing hotel and real estate acquisitions and disposals. The advice and analysis you provide will enable the company and its stakeholders to make well-informed, strategic investment decisions regarding potential hotel and real estate acquisitions and contribute to the ongoing delivery of investment returns to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a deal pipeline and originating acquisition opportunities with vendors.
  • Building, developing and maintaining strong hotel owner, brand and broker connections and relationships.
  • Preparing and submitting bid letters for acquisition opportunities.
  • Preparing underwrite models including benchmarked and rationalised assumptions for hotel earnings forecasts, capex, debt and equity funding, terminal cap rates and tax.
  • Conducting commercial negotiations with vendors and hotel operators.
  • Running technical, financial and legal due diligence for acquisitions as part of the broader funds management team and presenting to key stakeholders for approval.
  • Preparing approval papers for submission to the Investment Committee and capital partners.
  • Supporting the Debt Capital Markets team to arrange debt finance for acquisitions.
  • Assisting the Funds Management with coordination of capital calls from investors.
  • Coordinating all transaction work streams and internal and external stakeholders from origination through to financial close.

You will use your relevant professional experience and knowledge together with your drive to create and execute acquisition opportunities to help grow the business.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • In-depth career experience in the hotel or broader real estate investment sector.
  • Strong knowledge of and relationships with hotel owners, brands and brokers in the Australian market.
  • Proven experience in managing end-to-end capital transactions.
  • Strong capability in real estate investment underwriting and transaction presentations.
  • Commercial acumen and negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Strong ability to build and manage effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modelling, valuation techniques, and analysis to assess transaction feasibility and impact.

The position can be based in our office in Melbourne CBD or Sydney CBD.
