Based in Kalgoorlie, this opportunity is suitable for a qualified locomotive driver with a CERT IV in Training and Assessing who is looking to advance into a leadership or training role.
About the role :
- Ensure all training and assessing activities comply with legislative and statutory obligations.
- Develop, deliver, evaluate, and review local training and assessment documents to support rail safety worker training.
- Conduct job tuition of trainees following Aurizon's RTO standards.
- Develop gap training plans and conduct re-training and assessments for rail safety workers who are not yet competent.
- Coordinate route and traction assessments for Locomotive Drivers.
- Maintain, complete, and record all training and assessment documentation appropriately.
- Contribute to the review and continuous improvement of training materials, methods, and safety/operational procedures.
- Conduct training, assessment, and re-assessment to ensure compliance with network safeworking requirements for rail safety workers.
- Support continuous improvement through in-field observations, coaching, and operational/safety reviews.
- Operate scheduled train services as a Locomotive Driver to maintain operational competency and support operational needs.
About you :
- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (Mandatory)
- Certificate IV in Rail Operations (Mandatory)
- Registered Trainer & Assessor qualification
- Ability to apply best practice train management techniques for safe and efficient train operations
- Strong facilitation, mentoring, coaching, and relationship-building skills to foster positive behavioural change
