Overview

We're seeking a Cloud FinOps professional to define, establish and manage financial management practices across Suncorp's multi-cloud landscape. You will work with multiple stakeholders as the conduit between business and IT, helping realise maximum business value from cloud and assess feasibility of future initiatives.

This is a newly-established role created by our cloud-first strategy. It's a fantastic time to join Suncorp with innovative and transformative projects in the pipeline, and there is an opportunity to shape the role and its impact.

What You'll Do
  • Design, implement and perform Domain-specific FinOps functions/practices, including billing/invoice management, cost chargeback/showback, forecasting/utilisation tracking, cost optimisation, and operation/delivery financial metrics & reporting.
  • Drive Domain FinOps adoption and maturity by embedding financial/cost management (FinOps) practices into day-to-day operations, supporting cost reduction/optimisation and FinOps ceremonies within the Domain.
  • Own initiatives and projects, demonstrating leadership.
  • Identify and resolve blockers in realising value from cloud platforms and develop relevant solutions.
  • Track and manage operational & project costs across the group and support Financial Year budget planning for cloud platforms.
  • Engage in technical conversations with other tech teams, challenging decisions and influencing prioritisation of cost optimisation and FinOps initiatives.
What You'll Bring
  • 3+ years of demonstrated public cloud knowledge and experience (AWS, Azure, GCP) is essential
  • Experience with public cloud financial components/concepts (cost & usage reports, reserved instances, savings plans, committed use discounts, enterprise discount programs, spot pricing, etc.)
  • Experience establishing and/or operating cost optimisation initiatives across complex Platform & Cloud environments
  • Experience establishing cloud chargeback/showback for business units or projects
  • Experience interrogating billing & usage data to create cost insights and reports/dashboards across Cloud, License, Partner & Operational budgets
  • Strong data/financial analysis and reporting skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills at a senior executive level with a can-do attitude
